The US Dollar is not as strong as it used to be. For a time the US Dollar was very reliable and people trusted it. This was because of interest rates and it was a safe place to put money when things were not going well in the world.. Now in 2026 people who know about money like those at BNP Paribas think that the US Dollar is starting to lose its value.
The US Dollar was strong for a while because the Federal Reserve was raising interest rates a lot and people wanted to keep their money safe.. Now BNP Paribas people think that some things are changing that will make the US Dollar not as strong:
The Federal Reserve might not raise interest rates as much. When inflation is not as high the Federal Reserve might even lower interest rates, which means people will not want to invest in the US Dollar much.
Other countries are getting stronger. The US economy is not doing well but other places like Europe and Asia are getting better so people might want to invest there instead of in the US Dollar.
People are looking at currencies. Investors do not just want to invest in the US Dollar they want to invest in currencies too.

The Euro and other currencies might get stronger. Currencies like the Euro the British Pound and the Japanese Yen might do well when the US Dollar is not as strong.
Gold and other commodities might be more popular. When the US Dollar is not as strong it is easier for people in countries to buy gold and silver.
The US Dollar will not get weak all of a sudden. The US Dollar is still a place to put money so when there are problems, in the world people will still want to invest in it. This means that the US Dollar will still go up sometimes even if it is getting weaker overall.
